The Ranney Falls G3 Project involved the construction of a new generating unit and powerhouse at the Ontario Power Generation Ranney Falls Generating Station.
The new powerhouse and a gated spillway were constructed adjacent to the existing two-unit powerhouse. The work required a significant amount of rock excavation.
Wills was retained by the contractor, GDB Constructeurs, to provide structural engineering, water resources engineering and environmental services for the construction project.
Services provided by Wills included design of large cofferdams, design of roadway protection systems, preparation of dewatering and erosion and sediment control plans, fish rescue, turbidity monitoring, turtle surveys, well decommissioning and many other construction support services.
