Peterborough Regional Health Centre

During the initial stages of the project it was critical that the existing hospital facilities be able to maintain normal operations until the transition to the new hospital was completed. Access and parking area construction was designed and constructed to ensure both the new and old hospitals were supported by the necessary infrastructure to service patients, staff and visitors.

The final phase of the new hospital construction included a new 2 km access road, Medical Drive. Wills provided detailed design and contract administration services for the new road construction and supporting infrastructure. The two-tier stormwater management facility was designed to provide flood relief in this highly-susceptible part of the city. During construction, Wills was on-site to ensure that traffic control and construction staging maintained the critical access for the public and emergency vehicles to the newly constructed hospital.
