MUNICIPAL PROJECT MANAGER

  • Thorough knowledge and proven experience with provincial and municipal standards for road reconstruction, municipal infrastructure projects, site plans, lot grading, sewer and watermain design,

MUNICIPAL DESIGNER

WATER RESOURCES ENGINEER

D.M. Wills Associates Limited (Wills), a dynamic and growing multi-disciplinary Consulting Engineering firm will offices in Peterborough, Ottawa and North Bay, has an opening for a professional engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in their Water Resources Group in the Peterborough office. The Water Resources group provides the following engineering services:

  • Stormwater management plans for individual sites and master plans;
  • Flood plain mapping of drainage courses and balanced cut/fill calculations;
  • Hydraulic design for bridges, non-structural and structural culverts;
  • Watershed studies for drainage areas ranging in size from less than 1 hectare to larger than 1,000 km2; and
  • Investigations for areas experiencing drainage problems.
Reporting to the Water Resources Manager, the successful applicant will assist in technical supervision of intermediate and junior staff with particular focus on review of computer models for hydrologic/hydraulic calculations.  The individual will analyze and interpret results and provide technical assistance to other departments; write and review reports for stormwater management systems, hydraulics at bridge and culvert openings and stormwater management studies.

The individual will have a good working knowledge and relevant experience in water resources engineering, particularly in the areas of infrastructure inspection, stormwater management, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and a clear understanding of relevant agency, municipal and provincial standards and guidelines.  The position requires strong interpersonal skills to provide agency liaison, conflict resolution, problem solving, analytical skills and oral and written skills and the ability to apply good judgment.

Experience with the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) Drainage and Hydrology requirements including the Highway Drainage Design Standards and Gravity Pipe Design methodology as well as RAQS approval in Drainage and Hydrology is an asset.

The individual will have experience with the following software - Visual Otthymo, CulvertMaster, FlowMaster, HEC-2 and HEC-RAS.  Familiarity with HYDAT, CFA, LFA, FishXing, StormCAD and RiverCAD is an asset.
